They work closely with the Director of Photography (DoP) and Gaffer to translate the director's vision into reality. - Before Filming:
They analyze the script, scout locations, and plan equipment needs. - During Filming:
They manage the grip crew, oversee rigging, and ensure the smooth execution of shots. - Equipment Management:
They keep track of all grip equipment, ensuring it's properly maintained and available when needed. - Building and Rigging:
They are responsible for building and rigging camera supports, lighting setups, and other necessary equipment.
