  • Core Recruitment Duties

    • Workforce Planning: Collaborating with producers and department managers (e.g., line producers, directors) to forecast staffing needs for the production schedule.
    • Job Descriptions and Advertising: Designing and updating job descriptions and specifications for a wide variety of specialized roles (e.g., camera operators, sound technicians, art directors). Advertising openings on job boards, social media, and through industry networks/talent agencies.
    • Sourcing and Screening: Sourcing potential candidates from various channels, screening resumes and applications, and conducting initial interviews (phone, video, or in-person) to assess qualifications and fit.
    • Interview Coordination: Coordinating interview schedules and logistics between candidates and various hiring managers and crew members.
    • Candidate Evaluation and Offers: Providing shortlists of qualified candidates to hiring managers, conducting reference/background checks, and extending job offers, including negotiating compensation and benefits packages.
    • Onboarding: Managing the new hire onboarding process, including handling all necessary paperwork, setting up payroll and benefits information, and ensuring new crew members understand company policies and safety protocols. 
  • Specialized Film Industry Responsibilities

  • Managing the Freelance/Contract Workforce: The film industry often relies heavily on a transient, project-based workforce. The HR recruiter must manage the complexities of hiring contractors versus employees, ensuring clear contracts and compliance with relevant labor laws and union agreements.
  • Compliance and Legalities: Ensuring all hiring practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, including specific industry regulations and union rules.
  • Workplace Culture and Well-being: Working with production leadership to foster a positive and inclusive work environment and address unique industry challenges like long, irregular hours and high-pressure situations. This includes ensuring all staff are aware of anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Talent Relations: Acting as a liaison between management and crew, handling employee relations issues, resolving conflicts, and providing a confidential route for crew members to voice concerns.
  • Talent Development: Identifying training needs and helping to implement development programs to upskill the workforce and support career growth within the production company.

  • Recruit cast and crew To fill open positions with contract freelancers for the talent pool. To be selected as production projects begin.

  • Adapt to multitask and well organized

Nice to have

  • Experience HR working with movie production 
  • Big plus: Worked with Odoo ERP
